Frequently Asked Questions for Plasma / LCD Television Installations

Q: Can I hang my LCD TV or Plasma television above the fireplace?
A: Yes, but some manufacturer’s will void the warranty if the product is
installed in this way.


Q: Is it safe to hang a LCD TV or Plasma television above my fireplace?
A: Yes! We won’t install it above a fireplace if it is not safe.

 

Q: What cables do I need for my LCD TV or Plasma installation?
A: This depends on what other devices you have, and how they are to be connected. We offer a “ PRE-PURCHASE ADVICE” service in your home where we discuss your requirements, cables etc. and how to get the most from your investment.

 

Q: How far should I sit from my large screen Plasma TV or LCD TV?
A: The distance to sit from your large screen Plasma TV or LCD TV is based on the size of the flat panel screen. As an example, we recommend a 2.7 metre viewing distance (your seated position) from a 42 inch flat panel display.


Q.  Are the cables that are needed for the installation included?
A.  No cables are supplied with the television when it is purchased, neither is any form of wall mount supplied. But you do receive a Table Top Stand (where required) with the television.


Q.  Is moving the power outlet included?
A.  No, unless pre-arranged or advised on the quote or invoice the cost of moving or installing your outlet is not included.


Q: Could I be charged more than the agreed price?
A: No, In most instances you will not have to pay anything additional to what you pay for the installation package.
On extremely rare occasions customers have special requirements that are not identified on the original installation invoice, and on these rare occasions, the customer will be notified and must approve any additional work that will be required and any associated fees prior to the additional work being
completed.

Q:  How long does it take to complete the installation?
A:  Most installations take 1 – 2 hours, wall mounts generally  take 2-4 hours, depending on home construction, wiring concealment etc.


Q:  How soon will someone come out to perform my installation?
A:  Generally 2 – 4 days after you have purchased the products from the retailer, but on odd occasions, it may take longer. But if you have need for an emergency installation of a LCD or Plasma television we might be able to squeeze your installation into our schedule.


Q:  What if my Flat Panel TV hasn't arrived at my location yet?  When should I order the installation service?
A:  Although we do deliver, If you have chosen another means of transporting your flat panel, we recommend you order the installation service as soon as possible. This reserves a date for you, but this date can be changed to reflect the date of when your panel is to arrive. All we ask is you contact us prior to the date of the original appointment.


Q:  Does the installation include the price of the Wall Mount?
A:  No.  The wall mount must be purchased by you at your preferred retailer.

Q:  Will we install & set up my DVD player, VCR and other components?
A:  Absolutely! The service we provide  includes setting up all the video components, home theatre components will vary. Please phone for pricing.

Q:  What if I need something done that is not on your installation service package?
A:  Call us and we will try to help!

Q:  If I cancel my service will their be a cancellation fee?
A:  No cancellation fees apply, but notice of cancellation is preferred.
